Fishing is Hilary Hutcheson’s life, and before she knew it, her career. But, by her own admission, she overlooked opportunities to learn about her heritage as a Japanese American to focus on being on the water. So when motherhood sparked a curiosity to learn more about herself and her family, she sought out a distant relative in Seattle with a shared love of fishing. As she peels back the layers of her own identity, she learns about Tengu Club, the oldest salmon fishing club in the United States.
