Hungry Life

Episode One: YELLOWSTONE RIVER with Ranga Perera

Making food part of every adventure is Chef Eduardo Garcia's mission. With fellow chef Ranga Perera, they create a most-enviable meal on the banks of the Yellowstone River with a few found ingredients, a hand-constructed oven, and time to fish – a rarity in itself. Pour yourself a whiskey sour muddled with charred pine and check out the film.

We all strive to be healthy, be happy, to feel community and family, and some type of connection to your purpose. In the flats off the Southern Yucatán Peninsula, Eduardo gets a lesson from world-class fly guides Hilary Hutcheson, Oliver White, and from the folks at the lodge in all of the above.

Episode Three: BIG SKY COUNTRY with Ben Masters

In this episode, Eduardo Garcia joins Ben Masters on a bighorn sheep hunt in Big Sky Country – recognized as the hardest hunt in the lower 48 states. The vast, treacherous terrain offers the ideal setting for a meal rich with the joy of working for it – an ingredient in no shortage at 9,700 feet.

Episode Four: LAGUNA MADRE with JT Van Zandt

In this episode, two old souls meet in the Texas Gulf Coast to discover what the land (and water) has on offer. JT Van Zandt shows Eduardo how fishing for redfish on the fly is done. In turn, Eduardo reveals that within the very terrain that might bite, burn or sting you, you can find enough vegetation to fill your apron.

Episode Five: LANAI with Shane Dorian and Mark Healey

In Hawaii, Eduardo Garcia is joined by his landscape “interpreters” and pros each in their own right, Shane Dorian and Mark Healey. Here they show Eduardo Garcia how to traverse the terrain in pursuit of Axis deer, then head to the water to override the body’s over-protective instinct to breathe while spear fishing. What results is one very hard-earned meal.
